KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (December 6, 2023) – Barge Design Solutions, an engineering and architecture firm with diverse in-house multidisciplinary practice areas, today announced the appointment of Casey Tyree as the new director of the firm’s largest division, serving its private client base. The former office leader of Barge’s Knoxville office, Tyree is a military veteran with more than 20 years of experience in civil engineering.
"Casey has helped guide our Knoxville team to great success, and we are confident he will build on that and lead our private client center to new heights,” said Bob Higgins, CEO and president of Barge. “Casey has been with Barge for nearly twelve years as a project manager, group leader and vice president. Time and again, he’s delivered for our clients and his colleagues. Our private client center is in great hands now as we continue to build and grow this important aspect of our business.”
In his new role, Tyree will lead the development and management of client relationships and implementation of growth strategies across diverse markets, following his predecessor, Carrie Stokes, who has been elevated to Barge’s chief of staff.
"I am honored to take on this new opportunity and am fortunate to be building off a strong foundation and in collaboration with our executive leaders during a time of incredible growth for Barge,” said Tyree. “I look forward to reinforcing our reputation as a trusted partner and industry leader who our clients can count on when it matters most.”
Since joining the firm in 2012, Tyree has progressed through various roles, leading the Knoxville office and most recently held the position of vice president and director of operations for Barge’s private client center. Tyree also joined the company’s board in April 2023. Prior to his civilian career, Tyree served as a surface nuclear officer in the US Navy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in engineering management from Old Dominion University.
Tyree's promotion reflects Barge's dedication to acknowledging and rewarding internal talent, highlighting the company's focus on fostering growth.
