The Challenge
Honda sought a partner to help develop its new world production headquarters for their advanced flight jet, HondaJet. This complex contains five buildings and serves as the home for all HondaJet research, product engineering, production aircraft sales and marketing, and service support. Honda wanted the facility to showcase an upscale image that reflected its customer focus, while also portraying an image of stability and high technology.
The Solution
Barge Design Solutions provided planning, site permitting, architecture, engineering, and construction phase administration for the complex, which consisted of headquarters, research and development, and production facilities on a 70-acre site. The team's strategy consisted of fast-tracking the completion and approval of key design elements, which allowed the initial site and foundation construction to begin. The completion of these packages allowed construction to begin approximately three months earlier than originally anticipated.
The Honda Aircraft Headquarters Facility was certified LEED Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council.
The Result
The Barge team's successful development of the Honda Aircraft Headquarters Facility showcases their expertise in designing and constructing high-quality, sustainable facilities that meet the specific needs and goals of their clients. Their ability to deliver a project that is both visually appealing and environmentally responsible demonstrates their commitment to excellence in design and construction.
