Barge Launches Chemical Process Engineering Department, Led by Knisley Brothers
- Update:5/8/2024
We are excited to announce the launch of our chemical process engineering department, led by industry veterans and brothers Dennis Knisley, PE, and Phil Knisley, PE. This new team enhances our collaboration with energy and industrial clients, reaffirming our commitment to delivering innovative and comprehensive solutions.
Chemical process engineering uses the principles of chemistry, physics, and engineering to design, analyze, and optimize processes for converting raw materials into valuable end-products. It serves as the backbone of various industrial operations. Integrating chemical process engineering capabilities into our portfolio allows us to diversify services to existing clients and offer services to new ones.
Appointed as the director of the newly formed department, Dennis has over 40 years of experience in the industry, specifically in environmental engineering services. His expertise lies in developing air permitting strategies for new air emission standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. He has project management experience across multiple sectors, including the chemical and allied products industry, U.S. Department of Defense facilities, hazardous waste treatment, and heavy industrial manufacturing. His expertise is essential in steering our projects toward success, ensuring they meet the high standards our clients expect.
With 39 years of experience executing projects in various sectors, Phil will continue to provide expertise as a client service leader. His experience includes chemical manufacturing, hazardous waste incineration, and energetic/pyrotechnic material manufacturing and demilitarization. From conceptualization to detailed engineering design, Phil has demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing project teams, overseeing the commissioning and permitting of projects, and ensuring they are completed within budget and schedule constraints.
Both individuals deeply understand project dynamics, making them invaluable assets to our team and clients. Their team includes specialized chemical process design, development, and operation skills. We have also welcomed Mitesh Patel, P Eng, as a senior chemical process engineer and are looking for additional talent to join this growing team.
