Galleria Parkway Streetscape
- Georgia
Landscape Architecture
The Challenge
The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre was the first planned Livable Communities Initiative (LCI) installation in the area and was designed as a cultural center for arts, entertainment, businesses, and residences. The Atlanta Regional Commission wanted a landscape design that would serve as the “front door” for the complex along Galleria Parkway, creating pedestrian facilities that would seamlessly connect existing and future developments and unify the character of the district.
The Solution
Barge Design Solutions developed a streetscape that addresses future growth for both pedestrians and vehicles. The design included a multi-use trail that ties in with the Cobb County trail system and incorporates artistic influences for the cultural center.
The Result
The Barge team's successful streetscape design has contributed to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre's role as a vibrant cultural hub and a welcoming destination for visitors and residents alike. Barge's ability to create a pedestrian-friendly environment that integrates with the existing trail system and incorporates artistic elements demonstrates their expertise in urban planning and landscape design.
